News came last Friday that Gonzales has been awarded $1.07 million by the Texas Transportation Commission for improvements to the Roger M. Dreyer Memorial Airport. The funds will be used for hangar construction and pavement improvements at the facility. Costs will be funded with the City of Gonzales chipping in $90,000 and the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) Aviation Facilities Grant Program shelling out the rest.   City of Cuero residents will soon be able to see their water and electricity usage in real time on a smartphone application. City staff are replacing all of Cuero's water and electric meters with advanced meters that use a smart system. All information from the meters will be sent to City Hall virtually and can be read online, Cuero city manager Raymie Zella said. The opening of the Seguin H-E-B parking lot is another step to the new store’s completion.
