Seguin's newest retail development could include Academy

The city of Seguin could potentially see an Academy Sports + Outdoors store in the near future.

According to a project listing on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website, the nationally known sporting goods store is projected to join other shops in the newly announced retail development known as Seguin Crossing just north of Interstate 10 across the street from Starbucks.

The city announced two weeks ago the $25 million retail development would include a Hobby Lobby, 5 Below, James Avery and more. Among unnamed businesses, the city reported that a national sporting goods retailer would take residence at the shopping center.
