GVEC Economic Development Celebrates Texas Chamber of Commerce Week

Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) and its Economic Development division are proud to join in celebrating Texas Chamber of Commerce Week. This event takes place Monday, October 14 and runs through Friday, October 18, 2024, to commemorate more than 600 local Chambers of Commerce in Texas that distinguish themselves as the voices of business in the state.
GVEC is the conduit for economic development in the Guadalupe Valley and serves the cities of Cibolo, Cuero, Gonzales, Halletsville, La Vernia, New Braunfels, Schertz, Seguin, Stockdale, Yoakum, and Yorktown. With its assistance, businesses can take advantage of prime South Texas commercial real estate, an equipped workforce, and a strong manufacturing and industrial profile.
The work accomplished by these local chambers has benefited Texas through its economic and community development programs. These local chambers of commerce are committed to promoting their communities for quality growth and development.
The business community in the GVEC Region has been a driving force in fostering enhanced educational opportunities, infrastructure improvements, leadership development, the creation of jobs, and a positive vision of the future. The chamber of commerce community in Guadalupe Valley has made it a mission to achieve successful results for the region in a cooperative spirit with other organizations.
Here's a look at the individual chambers of commerce that serve the GVEC Regon communities:
The Chamber (Schertz-Cibolo-Selma Area) is a 4-star accredited chamber of commerce. It serves a membership of over 600 businesses, and 1,275 representatives, covering 20 cities and 10 counties. They are advocates for better business, providers of networking and marketing opportunities, as well as business-to-business and business-to-community connections.
The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce believes that a strong, vital community goes hand-in-hand with a strong, vital business environment. By offering a variety of exceptional business programs, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing something for everyone. Its vision is to make Seguin the best choice to live, work, play and prosper. The mission of the Seguin Chamber of Commerce is to promote prosperity and strengthen the prosperity of its members and community.
The La Vernia Chamber of Commerce was established to promote the development of local businesses and enhance the economic desirability of the greater La Vernia area. Just 20 miles east of San Antonio, the city offers the advantages of a friendly community, with many business services. The chamber and the local government of La Vernia are not only dedicated to the well-being of the businesses and families of the area but are also approachable and responsive.
The Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture in Gonzales is dedicated to promoting community prosperity by providing services and advocacy for its members. It is committed to the growth, development and promotion of the community and its businesses, organizations and tourism. From early education through technical training and colleges, Gonzales’ chamber is committed to helping develop and train a 21st-century workforce ready to meet the needs of today’s industries.
The Cuero Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to support the prosperity of its members and promote the rich heritage of Cuero’s community through enhanced education, strong leadership, valuable services, and tourism. The chamber is composed of nearly 300 member investors, all dedicated to improving the economic well-being and quality of life in Cuero.
