Daisy Scheske Freeman to Lead Cooperative’s Economic Development Initiatives Within Texas’s Guadalupe Valley
Gonzales, Texas: Experience. Honesty. Integrity. Daisy Scheske Freeman exhibits all of these leadership qualities and they will serve her well as the recently-named Economic Development Director for the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC). In this role, Scheske Freeman will drive economic and job growth in the Guadalupe Valley while supporting the needs of its member communities and consumers.
“It is an honor and privilege to work for an organization that is community-focused while serving the needs of businesses and residents in the South Central Texas region,” says Scheske Freeman. “I come from a military family which instilled me with a strong sense of national and community service, and I am excited to apply that to this role and really enhance the quality of life for those who call this region home.”
Scheske Freeman is no stranger to serving her community. Prior to her current role at GVEC, she served as Sales Account Manager at J Bar B Foods, a food distributor and largest sausage producer in Texas. In addition, she was promoted from Assistant Executive Director to Executive Director of the historic Gonzales Chamber of Commerce, where she engaged with businesses, community organizations and government entities to promote economic development, programming and advocacy. Adds Scheske Freeman, “My past experiences have allowed me to meet amazing people and build relationships that positively impact the community. I am excited to do the same with GVEC.”
