We made a stop in Yoakum, Texas this week for their Annual Business Appreciation Lunch where Yoakum General Store was presented with the 2018 Community Reinvestment Award.  Before leaving town we made plans to stop by the general store and check it out. What we discovered was an amazing renovation of an historic feed mill filled with tools & toys, paint & plumbing supplies, clothing, shoes and everything in between.  Jeff and Jackie Boswell, who along with Brant and Anna Jacobs opened the store in late 2017 after almost a two year renovation, were born and raised in Yoakum and attended Yoakum High School.  After going away to college they returned and are now investing big in their hometown.  This enchanting place will take you back in time while all the while serving you up the latest modern offerings including a farmers market every 4th Saturday.  People and places like this are what #SmallBusinessWeek is all about. Our hats off to you Yoakum General Store and all of the small businesses that make South Central Texas and the Guadalupe Valley a great place to invest in.
