Wurstfest 2016 opens Friday, the perfect elixir as the presidential campaign is about to finally wind down.

Along with the sausage, sauerkraut, strudel, kartoffelpuffer (German potato pancakes), sweets and countless beers, talented punk-polka virtuoso Alex Meixner headlines opening week at the annual food, music and beer festival and carnival which runs through Nov. 13.

Meixner’s head-snapping, show-stopping antics, lederhosen and bottomless pit of polkas have made him a wildly popular fixture the last several years and explains why he was named “Prince of the City of Princes” by the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.  READ MORE...
