Upcoming Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies in Gonzales, TX, Highlight Regional Investment, Job Creation
Thursday, June 04, 2026
Two upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremonies in Gonzales, TX, underscore a wave of momentum around the city that’s translating to economic development, investment, and job growth.
The City of Gonzales, in close partnership with Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway (TXGN) and GVEC, is thrilled to announce two ribbon-cutting ceremonies in June:
- June 17, at 10 a.m., to celebrate the opening of a new lumber facility by Synergos Companies.
- June 18 at 11 a.m., to celebrate TXGN Railway’s new Railyard infrastructure investments, including TrinityRail’s expansion into Gonzales with a new railcar maintenance facility
Together, these investments are expected to create nearly 200 new jobs in the region.
“It’s easy to see the energy in Gonzales for continued development and growth,” said Joey Evans, senior director of business support and development for TNW Corporation, TXGN’s parent company. “Synergos and TrinityRail are demonstrating their long-term commitment to Gonzales, a city whose credentials as a transportation and logistics hub are already robust. These ribbon-cutting ceremonies send a strong signal about the bright forecast ahead for Gonzales and its community.”
Synergos’ New Facility
Synergos Companies, a Scottsdale, AZ-based construction and development firm specializing in project integration, expands into Gonzales with a bang. In early 2025, it closed on 28 acres of prime TXGN Railway-served property off of Stieren Road. After breaking ground around the same time, the new Structural Building Material Operation is now eyeing the commencement of operations on the site, projected to create approximately 145 new jobs in the community.
Leveraging TXGN’s rail access into central Texas, along with connections via Union Pacific to San Antonio, Houston and ports along the Gulf of Mexico, Synergos’ facility will be well-positioned to tap into the supply chain capabilities of Gonzales. In short, Synergos will be strategically situated, supported by efficient transportation and logistics.
TrinityRail’s Gonzales Expansion
TrinityRail, a national leader in railcar leasing, manufacturing, and logistics solutions, operates in 10 U.S. states along with Mexico. Gonzales features one of TrinityRail’s Mobile Repair Facilities, offering railcar cleaning, tank car qualifications, inspections, brake testing, welding, and many other critical services that help ensure trains operate safely and efficiently.
The announced ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizes the ongoing alliance between TXGN Railway and TrinityRail, as demonstrated by TrinityRail’s decision to expand its footprint in Gonzales with a permanent railcar maintenance shop, which will result in the hiring of 30-40 additional employees.
“Synergos and TrinityRail are setting strong examples as to Gonzales’ potential for sustained economic growth,” Evans continued. “Their investment in the region sends a signal that Gonzales is a prospering community that’s attracting jobs and strengthening its position as a buzzing rail and transportation corridor. I’m thrilled to officially cut the ribbons on these two projects and strongly believe similar economic boosts to the Gonzales region are just around the bend.”
Collaboration and partnership between Synergos, TrinityRail, TXGN Railway, GVEC, the City and County of Gonzales, and Gonzales Economic Development Corporation paved the way for these two impactful projects. Contact GVEC for additional information.
