Community Recreation Center Groundbreaking Set for Friday, October 14th

The City of New Braunfels invites you to the groundbreaking ceremony for the New Braunfels Community Recreation Center on Friday, October 14th. The event will be held at 345 Landa Street, site of the future facility. Parks & Recreation Director Stacey Dicke notes the ceremony will mark the start of construction for a state-of-the-art recreational space. “Once completed, the center will provide greatly needed recreation opportunities to the entire community.” The total construction budget for the project is $23.5 million. $15.69 million of which is funded by the 2013 Bond Program, and $5.8 million by the New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (4B Board). New Braunfels Independent School District is contributing $2.2 million for the eight lane competition pool, of which $1 million is in reserve for future operations and maintenance.
