These three counties form the cornerstone of the region:

Guadalupe County, with its county seat in Seguin, is recognized for having the highest manufacturing jobs per capita in Texas, with almost twice the national average manufacturing jobs.

Comal County, with its county seat in New Braunfels, is in the heart of the Austin-San Antonio Corridor.
