A Responsive Cooperative Equipped for Serious Needs

Why work with GVEC? A Cooperative is Different.

GVEC is a cooperative, which means we are owned and governed by the members we serve. We are a not-for-profit organization concerned only with reliably and affordably meeting the needs of our consumers. You’ll be meeting with the decision makers up front as we strive to make the process of establishing operations in our service area convenient and streamlined. In addition, when our revenues exceed expenses and the Board of Directors deems appropriate, you’ll receive capital credits back, a benefit recognized only by being part of a member-owned cooperative.

Another very unique aspect of the Cooperative business model is our belief in supporting our member communities. Your company is valuable in terms of providing jobs, revenue stream, and resources to strengthen to this region. Working on behalf of our members and neighbors, we will help connect you to the professionals and prospects that make the Guadalupe Valley the best place to call home.

Traditional Values, Unexpected Service.

At over 75 years young, GVEC has continued to grow since its 1938 incorporation by a group of farmers who brought rural electricity to their community to improve their lives.

When the lights first went on, GVEC served 150 members.  Today, the member owned cooperative serves more than 75,000 consumers in a 13-county area spanning 3,500 square miles. As part of a larger mission to identify and invest in services to meet our members evolving needs, we also go beyond electricity serving as a prominent South Central Texas high-speed Internet Service Provider and supplier of air conditioning and heating and solar sales and service, as well as electrician services.

Our record speaks for itself. Through advanced technology, a strong electric system, progressive thinking and good people who care, GVEC is positioned well to support your needs now and for generations to come.

Naturally Beautiful Texas Landscapes

Fast Fact Image

Take a Spring drive in Cuero, Yorktown, Yoakum and all the little towns in between and experience why the Texas Legislature passed HR 769 on May 4, 1999 designating DeWitt County as the Wildflower Capital of Texas. The area becomes “an ocean of color” as the wildflowers begin to bloom and visitors come far and wide for this naturally beautiful Texas landscape.
