(Seguin) -- Author and cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead once famously said that "any town that doesn't have sidewalks doesn't love its children." If that's true the city of Seguin is about to make a sizable love offering not only to its children, but also to the entire community.
The Seguin City Council on Tuesday approved a nearly $1 million contract that will allow Qro Mex Construction Company to build a large sidewalk network on the Westside of town, near Park West.
Parks and Recreation Director Jack Jones says this pedestrian friendly project is long overdue.
"We're excited to get folks who are walking in the middle of the road to get to Park West off of North Vaughan Avenue and San Antonio Avenue -- to get them safely to Park West, get them on the sidewalk.
