Central Texas Technology Center lauded at AACOG awards

One area organization received top honors for its growth and mission.

The Alamo Colleges Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC) recently was awarded the Government Project of the Year award from the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) for its expansion project.

“It is an honor to be selected for this award. It just highlights our collaborative partnerships that we have with the city of Seguin, New Braunfels and the counties of Guadalupe and Comal Counties,” Campus Director Chester Jenke said.

CTTC competed against six other finalists in the Government Project category and was the first in AACOG history to receive the recognition twice, the first being in the early 2000s, AACOG said.

The campus was nominated for the award by New Braunfels Grant Coordinator Michele C. Valadez, who assisted with the U.S Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant funds used for the expansion project.

“The reason for the nomination is because the CTTC Expansion Project is an exceptional government project that demonstrates regional collaboration with a focus on education,” she said. READ MORE...
