Auto Zone, O’Reilly’s coming to La Vernia

Hello, La Vernia citizens.

It’s been a few months since my last article, and I want to let you know what’s happening these days at City Hall. We just approved the 2016-17 budget, which includes a dedicated parks and rec person, who will be in charge of maintaining the city park and fields on a constant basis. We’re also adding another police officer’s position to our staff, and are looking forward to implementing both as soon as possible.

We have several projects ongoing that include the completion of our second municipal drinking water well and transmission line; a water distribution line replacement project, which is due to be completed at the end of September; and then street improvements on eight streets that will take place until the middle of October. The folks on the streets to be restored will be notified prior to the work being done and all vehicles will need to be moved off the road when the crews will be working.
