Canadian manufacturer CGT US Ltd. is investing $30 million into its New Braunfels plant to add new production lines that will create 130 jobs.

The Toronto-based company's Central Texas plant makes coated fabrics and vinyl films used for car dashboards, doors and seats. Crews have already started installing new casting lines, printers and inspection tables that are expected to double the plant's capacity. The installation work on the new line is expected to be finished by the end of the year. However, it is not expected to come into full production until early 2020. Once complete, the 240,000-square-foot plant is expected to have 275 employees, working three shifts five days week.

"At the end of the day, it's fulfilling our promise to our customers, which is being able to supply them with quality product on time and in good order," CGT U.S. Managing Partner Ben Heersink told the Business Journal. "By adding this additional capacity as well as shortening our supply chain, we're increasing our capabilities."  READ MORE...
